This was an easy drive from Portland and we are glad we made the trip! We wanted an easy going kayak experience (no strong currents or waves) so this lake tour was perfect. Our hosts were very kind and knowledgeable about the area. It was a really nice evening on the water.

As someone who has never kayaked before this was a very fun experience! The guide was very knowledgeable about the area and even gave us chocolates! I was nervous at first but the guide was really helpful and taught me how to kayak! Would do again!!

Courteous service, and super convenient - they dropped the rental canoe and kayak right at the front door of our lake house rental!!! Also, if you paddle on Panther Pond, THEIR membership allows you to use the public beach that's on the lake - very helpful, as we didn't have a good beach at our rental

Simple rental process, friendly staff, and easy access to a drop off point right by the shop. The drop off allows you to explore up a quiet river (some great waterfowl spotting) or out to Sebago Lake. A great way to get out on the water!

Between Kate and Bill organizing the appointment and helping me every step with equipment and to get onto the water, it was so easy, they have parking, it’s free, they have a loading dock that makes it seamless, and you can easily get into your kayak and onto the water off the launcher, meaning your feet are dry!So their launch site is a stream/river off the main lake and I have to tell you it is so gorgeous!! Personally,I did the river, yes there are some branches that have fallen. You can easily go around & the water was high enough… I recommend wearing water shoes because if there is a branch that’s down, you can also continue the river by paddling yourself over the branch or possibly stepping on the branch and pulling your kayak over it… Don’t be afraid it’s very easy to do. The kayak just slides right over the branch, and then once you’re done with the river and you get back to the main lake, you may or may not agree, but the river is so gorgeous, I actually went out onto the lake for a little while, but I turned back and I did another river run. The river is Not moving water. It stands still for the most part Because it’s not a river. It’s actually just a standing stream with nature and turtles and birds. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Good luck everyone totally worth every minute of your time on vacation or if you live locally. !! And so reasonably priced!!

I was having difficulty finding a great easy half day kayak rental place and then I found these guys, absolutely fantastic!! Kate booked me, Bill met me at the office, helped with all the equipment and the process was completely seamless! Go to their site and get personalized servicel! And I mean from start to finish they have a kayak launcher your feet don’t even get wet. It’s the easiest way to get onto the stream that is off the lake.. the stream/river was my favorite. I happen to do a solo trip and I could not have been happier, they have free parking, the price was very affordable, they did not nickel and dime and watch the time for every minute late, check out my photos, I highly recommend this company anytime of the year, you can wear your sweatshirts and jackets. It’s so fun to kayak in the colder seasons too!! Oh yeah, I do recommend wearing water shoes. Not required at all I wore tennis shoes…but if you wear water shoes, you can more easily go over any branches, not even getting fully in the water. You can actually just step on the branch and pull your kayak over so that you can go further down the river past trees that have fallen… But you can go around most of the fallen branches. It was so much fun!!!.

I rented a kayak and dry bag on 8/31/25. The online rental process was super easy. I came 15 minutes prior to the reservation time, as instructed, and was greeted by name!! I was directed to a clean bathroom and changjng area and told to meet under the umbrella when I was ready to go. I was fitted with a life jacket (I already had one for my dog Echo). Bill then walked us over to the launch area, put a kayak in this cool launch holder and helped me to put my yoga mat in the bottom for my pup. He went over a waterproof map with me and off we went! We were in an Old Town kayak with a big cockpit and my pup and I had a blast. We went up and down the east side of the lake, waving to the other boaters, to the people onshore, and checking out the seagulls. We stopped twice at a little public island to stretch our legs, splash around, and have some water. When we headed back we got to see a Great Blue Heron right across from where we started! We had help getting back out of the kayak and also back at the store, returning our rental equipment. I would definitely recommend this experience and this group - we had a blast!!

I booked this trip for my partner's birthday. Both her and I had a phenomenal time. As someone who's never kayaked before. The host was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in getting my bearings on how use a kayak. First the guide took us down the river & there was a very good "paid actor" of a Western Reef-Heron. That kept flying down the river everytime we got close or passed by it. The guide then took us out on to the lake. Where we got to see a mated pair of Loons & the sunset. I would highly suggest this guided trip to anyone. Whether you be a beginner or expert in kayaking, you will enjoy this tour & the sunset at the end.

We rented two 12ft long kayaks for our week vacation. They were delivered to our rental property so they were waiting for us when we arrived. Sebago Trails texted me a photo of the kayaks to let them know they were there. The rental also included life jackets and paddles. The kayaks paddled so nicely and weren’t too heavy to maneuver. Sebago Trails came back to the rental property to pick up the kayaks at the end of our week long rental. It was seemless. Highly recommend renting from them!

I had a great time on this trip. Bill our guide gave us a lot of history as we kayaked over the old canal and tow path (which is now submerged but can be seen in shallow water). Kayaked under and a little beyond the Babb’s covered bridge. Saw lots of turtles, a cormorant, and ducks. River is very calm so the trip is perfect for beginners.

This kayak tour was great fun! The current was a bit stronger than was expected on that day, and the water level higher, but we all managed pretty easily. Bill was very helpful with our prep, and our guide Natalie was especially nice and helpful with any questions we had. The best part for me was going out into Sebago and just hovering around while the sun went down. In a surprise twist, my cell phone mysteriously started playing a jazz station while we were gazing at the sunset. I don't know if anyone else heard it, but since I'm a jazz lover, I took it as a positive sign, lol!

We arrived for an evening paddle with a summer storm rolling through the area. STPC made certain we were safe before proceeding out to a scenic paddle and then an absolutely gorgeous sunset on Sebago Lake. Our Maine Guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and provided just the right touch for visitors and veterans alike. A sweet treat to the the night and fond memories will stay with us.

This was my first time Kayaking and Bill was an incredible teacher. I was a little nervous since I never been in a kayaker but Bill made so easy to feel comfortable and give me easy to follow instructions. The experience is serene since nature is all around. Bill will talk to you about history as he brings around the tress in the water, you don’t even notice that you are kayaking and going along easily. Thank you, Bill and the staff for a great experience. PS: Don’t forget to a buy the very soft t-shirt they have, it will remind you of the great time you just had.

I have been researching online for months what kayak a newbie recreational paddler would need, as I just moved to the lake. I am so impressed with the customer service at Sebago trails. Katy was so informative, friendly and she listened to my wants and needs. I confidently bought two kayaks and had them delivered for free within 30 minutes. Everything was on sale that I got, so the price was better than I found online (plus a majority of stores charge $200 per kayak for delivery). I will be back for rentals and to get accessories when needed. Thanks!

We spent an amazing half a day at this heavenly paddling spot today. "SABAGO TRAIL" is not only the only paddling operator to welcome you with Katie's huge genuine 😃 - but to be offering within half an hour drive from Portland a serene river paddling experience amid tranquil Maine lavish forest, while at the very same time if paddling the other way from verg same launch point - the experience of the vast Sabago lake. Could not have wished for more! (and their half a day for 39 bucks is worth every cent)

Sebago Trails Paddling Co was GREAT!!! It was a bit windy when we arrived and they suggested we paddle the river vs the lake. I loved paddling the river around and under the 'obstacles'. We saw a heron, ducks, and turtles which we probably wouldn't have seen had we paddled the lake. It was relaxing and only took us about an hour and a half . I highly recommend this awesome company.

I had an amazing time kayaking on the Presumpscot River on October 2nd. This was my third time renting from Sebago Trails Paddling Company. Kate does a wonderful job of giving you the heads-up of what to look for and look out for. She told me this time about an eagle sighting from her tour the day before, and in the same spot, I saw THREE eagles! One of them swooped down and snagged a fish out of the water. Two out of the three eagles flew into their nest, and they were greeted by their Eaglettes. It was a beautiful day weather-wise and this sighting was the cherry on the top! I would highly recommend this paddling company as they couldn't be nicer, or more accommodating. Additionally, their equipment is top-notch!
