Paddle Maine’s Hidden Gems with Sebago Trails

Sebago Trails Paddling Co. was born from a shared passion for paddling and a deep love for the Maine outdoors. Founded by Bill Allen and Katelyn Perry, lifelong Mainers with over 30 years of combined experience, the company began as a small start-up in the winter of 2012-13. Recognizing the abundant paddling opportunities in the Sebago Lakes Region, they set out to share these hidden gems with both locals and visitors. Their journey started with kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals, driven by the goal of teaching and sharing the joys of Maine's waterways. With the unwavering support of family, friends, and the community, Sebago Trails has grown into a beloved destination for paddling enthusiasts, offering personalized experiences that highlight the natural beauty and tranquility of the region.

Sebago Trails Paddling recommends everyone wear their life jackets

  • Dress for the conditions. What you wear depends on the weather and water conditions, but always choose clothing that dries quickly since you will likely get wet from paddle drips, wave spray, and splashing.

  • Hot weather: Wear a swimsuit or quick-drying shorts, a moisture-wicking T-shirt, and a hat for sun protection.

  • Protect yourself from the sun: Sunlight reflects off the water, increasing UV exposure. Wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.

  • Best footwear options: Old sneakers, water shoes, or sandals with secure heel straps provide good protection and stay on your feet.

  • Cool or cold weather: Wear synthetic, moisture-wicking layers under a nylon or waterproof outer shell. Avoid cotton because it absorbs and holds water, making you colder.

  • Water & Snacks!

Do you have enough to share? Yes! Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated and pack snacks for energy. There is room for a small cooler, making it easy to bring lunch or drinks. Please remember to carry-in/ carry-out all trash and items.
