This was an easy drive from Portland and we are glad we made the trip! We wanted an easy going kayak experience (no strong currents or waves) so this lake tour was perfect. Our hosts were very kind and knowledgeable about the area. It was a really nice evening on the water.

Courteous service, and super convenient - they dropped the rental canoe and kayak right at the front door of our lake house rental!!! Also, if you paddle on Panther Pond, THEIR membership allows you to use the public beach that's on the lake - very helpful, as we didn't have a good beach at our rental

Maine Covered Bridge Kayak Tour
Experience a classic slice of Maine as we paddle the scenic Presumpscot River to historic Babb's Covered Bridge. Along the way, enjoy peaceful waters, wildlife, and the timeless beauty that has made this waterway a cherished destination. After a brief paddling demonstration lead by a Registered Maine Guide, this outing will begin at the historical Gambo Dam and meander upstream of the Presumpscot River. You will be able to appreciate the quiet sounds of nature as the birds overhead continue south for the winter, fish surface for a snack and the vivid colors pop off the glassy stream. This adventure will continue to the renowned Covered Bridge for a perfect photo opportunity. On the return, the guide will share stories about the immense impact this river had on shaping the Sebago Lakes region in its infancy.
Sebago Lake Discovery: A Nature & History Kayak Tour
Kayak through the natural Maine wilderness and vast lake views for an on the water adventure. We offer rental rates starting from half day options to 7+ days. We consider a day any 24 hour period and a week is considered any consecutive 7 days. So, you can rent anywhere from a single day for an afternoon paddle or two, to a few days to a few weeks, giving ample opportunity to explore the water around your cabin.
An average paddler can achieve 1 to 3 mph for extended periods of time. Someone who is strong and experienced could reach 4 to 6 mph. Paddling with or against the tide of currents also affects traveling time. So, The answer would be anywhere from less than 10 minutes, to more than an hour, depending on the paddler and conditions. Paddling on flat water lakes, ponds and streams, plan on 20 to 30 minutes per mile; but take a little longer to explore and have fun!
Yes! Recreational kayaking is beginner friendly. If you're comfortable around the water, we can teach you the basics in about 10–15 minutes before you head out. For those looking to build their skills, we also offer paddling instruction.
Sebago Trails Paddling recommends everyone wear their life jackets
Dress for the conditions. What you wear depends on the weather and water conditions, but always choose clothing that dries quickly since you will likely get wet from paddle drips, wave spray, and splashing.
Hot weather: Wear a swimsuit or quick-drying shorts, a moisture-wicking T-shirt, and a hat for sun protection.
Protect yourself from the sun: Sunlight reflects off the water, increasing UV exposure. Wear sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.
Best footwear options: Old sneakers, water shoes, or sandals with secure heel straps provide good protection and stay on your feet.
Cool or cold weather: Wear synthetic, moisture-wicking layers under a nylon or waterproof outer shell. Avoid cotton because it absorbs and holds water, making you colder.
Water & Snacks!
Do you have enough to share? Yes! Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated and pack snacks for energy. There is room for a small cooler, making it easy to bring lunch or drinks. Please remember to carry-in/ carry-out all trash and items.
